# Jan Piotrzkowski - Full Site Content > https://janpiotrzkowski.com ## About Jan Piotrzkowski is a software engineer from Poland with 5+ years of experience building, shipping, and maintaining production applications, primarily with Ruby on Rails. His background covers backend APIs, third-party integrations, relational databases, and product-driven delivery across remote teams. He is now moving into Java backend engineering (Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate), building on that foundation in software design, ownership, and reliable delivery. He holds a B.S. in Applied Computer Science from AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow, Poland. Outside of work he builds his own products end to end: TheBench.Bio (https://thebench.bio), a biotech and life sciences platform built with Ruby on Rails, and a set of iOS apps under Read · Build · Ship (https://readbuildship.com), built with Flutter and Swift. He also publishes Rust libraries on crates.io; behave, a BDD testing library for Rust, has passed 14,000 downloads. He writes books too, published on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/stores/Jan-Piotrzkowski/author/B0FBLCK78Z He uses AI tools such as Claude Code heavily in his engineering workflow for code review, debugging, drafting specs, and cutting repetitive work. Remote-first, based in Cracow, Poland. English (C1), Polish (native). ## Projects ### TheBench.Bio (Live) A biotech and life sciences platform: breaking industry news, conferences and events worldwide, and a verified layoffs tracker.
